Binnie Lefever Neel, of Huntersville, NC passed away October 14, 2020 at Novant Medical Center in Huntersville.
Binnie was born in Glouster, Ohio on April 25, 1937 to the late Clark and Beulah Evans LeFever.
She graduated from Gahanna Lincoln High School in 1955. Following high school, she attended Ohio University where she graduated with a degree in Fine Arts and Art Education in 1961. She was a member of the Phi Mu sorority.
On June 10, 1961, she married Richard Neel. Together they moved to Florida and Georgia before settling into Charlotte, NC in 1978. Binnie enjoyed her 25 year career in the Real Estate Lending and Credit Risk Departments at Nations Bank. Upon retirement, Binnie volunteered with Loaves and Fishes at Huntersville United Methodist Church and with her PTO chapter. She strongly believed in giving back to her community and helping others.
Binnie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and cousin. She was a very generous, loyal, and caring woman, who was concerned about the well being of others.. She will be remembered for her fabulous cooking and baking, love of art and plays, the joy Thanksgiving, Christmas, and birthdays brought her, weekly bridge card games, and her fierce devotion to her family and to her Christian faith.
Along with her parents, Binnie is preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Richard Neel and beloved cousins Sue Walker and Jimmy Evans. She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Richard Neel (Niki), daughter Cynthia Neel Maple and five grandchildren: Christian Neel, Madison Neel, Stefan Neel, Wesley Maple and Addison Maple. In addition, she is survived by her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Raymond and Betty Cook of Richlands, VA and many cousins living in Ohio.
Graveside service will be Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at 10:00 at Northlake Memorial Gardens. The Reverend Jim Humphries of Davidson United Methodist Church will officiate.
