Betty Mitchell Nabors

It is with a heavy heart our family shares the news that Betty Marie Mitchell Nabors, 70, passed away April 23rd, 2018 in Charlotte, North Carolina.  Our beloved wife, mother, sister and friend will be missed dearly.

Betty was born January 11th, 1948 to the late Warren Mitchell and Thelma Vestal in Elkin, North Carolina.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 50 years, Bob Nabors; daughters Dr. Emily Nabors-Ellison (Scott), Robin Shanahan (John); son Tim Nabors (Amy); grandsons Cameron and Jack; grand-daughters Isabella and Madison; and sister, Lois Ann Groce.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandparents, Wilson and Rosella Mitchell.

Betty graduated from Surry Central High School, Gardner Webb College as well as USCS with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and University of South Carolina with her Masters of Nursing Administration.  Betty was an amazingly giving person.  She gave unconditional love to all she met and was selfless with all whom she encountered.  There was nothing more important to her than her husband, children, and grandchildren who were the absolute joy of her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.  She also had a passion for shopping, cooking, and reading books with her book club.

Visitation will be held at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home on Friday, April 27th from 7-9pm.  The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 28th at 11:00am at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home.  Burial services will be held privately.
