Betty P. Kye

Betty Pender Kye, age 77, passed away on January 15, 2018.

Born and raised in Charlotte, NC by the late Wilson Luther and Rosetta Pender.

She graduated from North Mecklenburg High School in 1958 and attended Queens Business School. She was married to Brigadier General Hoyal Boone Kye for 55 years. She did professional modeling in Charlotte and San Antonio, TX.  She was also President of the Military Officer’s Wife Club and San Antonio Woman’s Club. Her and Hoyal enjoyed retirement life, traveling, fishing and watching birds. She always felt at peace on the lake fishing. She was a member of Lake Norman Baptist Church.

Along with her husband , she is survived by her son, Dr. Keith Kye of Davidson and his wife Jennifer Kye; daughter, Karen Kye of Kannapolis; and step-grandchildren, Luke Timberlake and Olivia Timberlake. She is also survived by her brother, Murray Pender and sister, Catherine Pender Stewart.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at Mt. Zion Church Cemetery.
