Beatrice Deaton Howard

Beatrice Deaton Howard, 93, of Cornelius, NC passed away peacefully on Saturday October 5, 2013 at the Huntersville Oaks. Beatrice was born February 28, 1920 in Mecklenburg County to the late James Duke and Emma Gurley Deaton. Bea was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and also the American Legion Auxiliary. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Lewis Howard; grandson, Jason Dellinger and 11 siblings. Beatrice leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Judy Lynch (Dr. Ron) of Indian Trail, NC, Donna Dellinger (Kevin) of Stanley, NC; brother, Marvin Deaton; sister, Betty Jean Cross; grandchildren, Angie Lynch Ball, Mandy Lynch Corbin, Amy Lynch Yates, Tim Lynch, Nathan Lynch, Heather Dellinger Alexander; eleven great grandchild and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday October 8, 2013 at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Cornelius, NC with Rev. Nathan Lynch and Rev. Tim Lynch officiating. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 11:00 am until the time of service. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery Lincolnton, NC.
