Balbina Petro

Balbina (Starsiak) Petro, 94, of Huntersville NC passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 10, 2022 after a brief illness.

“Beanie” as she was known to family and friends was born in Adams, Massachusetts on August 30, 1927 to the late John and Veronica (Leja) Starsiak. 

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 74 years, Thomas M. Petro.  Along with her husband and parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Francis Reisinger and Dorothy Rhinehart. 

She is survived by her son Mark (Marilyn), daughter Susan Leet (Matt), granddaughter Emily McPherson (Todd), grandsons Daniel and Alexander Leet, great-granddaughters Reese and Camille McPherson; as well as Gloria, Donald and Ashley Resinger (dear friends and part of her extended family), and several nieces and nephews.

Beanie and Tom spent almost their entire lives in Schenectady, NY before moving to Hunterville, NC to be closer to their family. 

Beanie’s greatest joy in life was having friends and family for dinner every Sunday.  Everyone was invited.

She was a loving and loyal friend and will be missed.

The family would appreciate memorial donations be made in Balbina’s name to Hospice and Palliative Care of Lake Norman, NC for the wonderful care they provided.
