Audrey was born April 14, 1938, in Harlem, New York to Morris and Margaret Brown. She was the third of eleven children and the oldest daughter. Audrey was educated in New York City's school system, earning her diploma from Morris High School in Bronx, New York. Upon graduation, she furthered her education and completed coursework to become a Certified Nursing Assistant. She worked in the profession for over thirty years. As a young woman, Audrey met, fell in love with and married Freddy Barrios. From their union, they had one daughter.
Audrey was a beautiful, caring, and sensitive soul. She loved people, especially her family and touched the hearts of everyone she came into contact with. Some of her most favorite past times included taking cruises with friends and spending quality time with family; including holiday and weekend gatherings. As the oldest daughter of the family, Audrey devoted much of her time to taking care of younger siblings and other family members. Her charm, sense of humor, gentle spirit and beautiful smile brightened rooms as well as people's lives.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Margaret Brown, her siblings, James, Anthony, Richard, Robert, Stephen, Shirley, Morris Jr, and Allen.
She is survived by her daughter, Sharon, her sister, Diane, (Herbie), her brother, (Kevin), and her honorary daughter, Trumaine. Audrey also leaves to cherish her memory a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and close friends.
Audrey spent her latest years in Huntersville, North Carolina where she lived freely and peacefully. Driving motorized carts and shopping with Diane, attending cook-outs and family gatherings at Jacqueline & Bobby's house and car rides to see the beautiful North Carolina trees brought her much joy and filled her with the happiness she deserved. Audrey will be lovingly remembered and missed.
