Arthur Hamilton Scherer, Jr.

Arthur Hamilton Scherer, Jr., 85, of Charlotte, NC passed away December 23, 2014 at Old Knox Commons, Huntersville, NC. Arthur was born April 14, 1929 in White Plains, NY to the late Arthur H Scherer, Sr. and Ida Ruth Stevens Scherer. He was the owner of the Scherer Television Service. Along with being an avid fisherman and golfer he was a huge fan of the NY Giants and Nicks. Arthur was a volunteer fireman and a member of the American Legion Post #271. Along with his parents, Arthur was preceded in death by his loving wife Marie Eleanor Jager Scherer, brother, stepmother, and daughter Suzan Scherer. Arthur leaves to cherish his memory; daughters, Liz Ruediger and her husband Charles of Bedford, NY, Joann Jacobson and her husband Arnie of SC; sons, Arthur Scherer and his wife Edris of North Salem, NY, William Scherer of Katonah, NY; brother, Jack Scherer; sister, Jill Schexnayder; grandchildren, Ally, Meg, Brett, Tyler, Lisa, Odin, Finn; great grandchild, Danielle. A memorial service will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 at 12:30 P.M at Katonah Memorial House at 71 Bedford Rd. Katonah, NY 10536.
