Arlene Betty Grellman

Arlene Betty Grellman, 83, of Cornelius, NC passed away on January 24, 2021. She was born in Chicago, IL on July 13, 1937 to the late Able Pruim and Sadie Homan Pruim. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Kathryn Hoekstra (Frank); brother, Richard Pruim; and two nephews, John and Rick Berry.

Arlene is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Scherer and Julie Grellman of Cornelius, NC; her son, William Grellman (Nicole) of Shelby, NC; grandchildren, Carrie, John, and Dan; and great-grandchildren, Chloe, Lily, and Maylee. She is also survived by her sister, Carol Formiller and family; nieces, Terry Klein and family, Sally Mecherle and family, former spouse and children’s father, Robert Grellman, and her beloved dog, Peanut.

Arlene lived out her faith in God every day and was loved by many for her incredible kindness, soft caring ways, and desire to help others. Her smile, laughter, and love wrapped around everyone she came in contact with. She loved music, walks outside, animals, and supporting our veterans.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC. Visitation will be held from 1:00 – 2:00 pm prior to the service.

An additional service will held on Saturday, January 30^th, 2021 at Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Stickney, IL. She will then be laid to rest at Mount Auburn Cemetery.
