Anne McDonald Karriker

Mrs. Anne McDonald Karriker, 78, of Huntersville, NC died Tuesday December 14, 2010 at Presbyterian Hospital. Born November 16, 1932 in Mecklenburg County she was a daughter of the late Walter Sherrill McDonald and Ethel Stilwell McDonald. Miss Anne as she was affectionately known was the secretary at Cornelius Elementary School for 25 years and Long Creek Elementary School prior. She was a member of Hopewell Presbyterian Church where she was an elder, Girl Scout leader, Sunday school teacher, circle member, active in the church bazaar and the 2009 recipient of the Woman of the Year award. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 am Friday December 17, 2010 at Hopewell Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening 6:30 to 8:30 at Raymer Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Jack Karriker, son, Scott Karriker and fianc, Kyla Slagter of Huntersville, daughter Jackie Carpenter and husband Rusty of Bessemer City, brother, Ronald McDonald and wife Janette of Huntersville, grandchildren, Kenny Smith and wife Kelly, Jonah and AnaMarie Dimeo. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Frances Randall and Doris McMurray.
