Anna Rankin Meacham

Anna (Ann) Rankin Meacham, 92, of Huntersville, NC passed away on January 16, 2020. She was born in Concord, North Carolina on December 31, 1927 to the late Richard B. Rankin and Nita Weedon Rankin. Along with her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Hudson P. Meacham, Jr. She and Hudson lived in Hickory for 20 years and on Lake Norman for 50 years. 

She is survived by her sons, John P. Meacham , Daniel W. Meacham (Lillian), and David H. Meacham; grandchildren,  Brian Meacham (Sarah), James Meacham (Melissa), Lauren Meacham Klehr (Josh), Elizabeth “Betsy” Meacham, William Meacham, Anna Meacham Nashashibi (Said), Eleanor Meacham Funderburg (Will); six great-grandchildren, Claire, Luke, Emma, Piper, Olivia, Hudson.

Ann was a strong believer and cared for others. She was a member of Bethel Presbyterian Church, First Presbyterian Church of Hickory and of Concord. Her loves were family, horses, reading, Duke Basketball, Lake Norman and her Weedon family home in Blowing Rock.Ann also loved all her friends from Concord, Duke University, Hickory and Huntersville. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 – 12:00 pm on Friday, January 24, 2020 at Bethel Presbyterian Family Life Center in Cornelius, NC.
