Ann Crawford Sherrill

Ann Crawford Sherrill, 79, of Denver, NC died peacefully December 26, 2016, at her home surrounded by her two loving children. Ann was born September 7, 1937, to the late Herman and Mabel Crawford of Asheville, NC.

She loved her Lord more than anything and studied His word daily. She was also an avid bridge player and played every chance she had. Ann was a devoted wife and mother, and was larger-than-life to her adoring grandchildren who called her “Meme”.

After graduating high school, she met the love of her life, John “Skip” Sherrill, in the downtown Asheville S&W Cafeteria where he worked. Ann was waiting on a ride to work when Skip came over and offered a cup of coffee. This was the beginning of a special loving relationship that was as strong on the day she passed as the day they married. Her loving dedication to Skip is an inspiration to her family and friends and a testimony to their love.

Mrs. Sherrill was preceded in death by her late husband, John Charles “Skip” Sherrill, and her parents, Herman and Mabel Crawford. She is survived by her two children, Katherine “Kat” Sherrill, and John “Skip” Sherrill, Jr. and wife Candy; grandchildren, Josh Haigler, Kelsey Sherrill White and husband Zack, Melissa Sherrill; great grandchild, Ezra Finn White; brother Charles Crawford Jr. and wife Geraldine; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 1:00pm Friday, December 30, 2016, at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home, Huntersville, NC. Family will receive friends at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.
