Amber Rebecca Parker

December 17, 1993 — November 18, 2018

Amber Rebecca Parker, 24, of Denver, NC passed away on November 18, 2018 at Duke University Hospital after a courageous fight with ovarian cancer.

Amber was born in Charlotte, NC on December 17, 1993 to Tom and Kelly Parker.

Amber is preceded in death by her grandparents Haywood and Becky Parker of Eden, NC, and her cousin Justin Edmondson.

She is survived by her parents, Tom and Kelly, her sister, Haley, her grandparents, Gene and Jane Harris, her aunt, Kathy Edmondson, her cousins Nikki and Jake Edmondson all of Denver, NC, and the love of her life, Bryce Caldwell of Hendersonville, NC.

A celebration of life will be held at her home church, Salem United Methodist Church in Denver, NC on Saturday, November 24 at 11:00am. A private burial will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Salem United Methodist Church.

Amber loved life and always had a smile on her face. She loved to cheer and dance since the day she could walk. She spent 15 years dancing for Star Struck Dance Studio on numerous competition teams, her high school years cheering for the East Lincoln Mustangs, and her college years dancing for the Western Carolina Catamounts. Amber was still currently involved in coaching the East Lincoln JV cheerleading team.

Amber always had a giving heart so it was no surprise to those closest to her when she went to Western Carolina for Hospitality and Tourism Management. After school she went on to work in the hospitality industry and had just started her own event planning business.

The family would like to thank all of Amber’s caregivers including Dr. Kellie Schneider and her team from Novant Health Gynecologic Oncology Associates and Dr. Gwynn Long and the medical staff from Duke University Hospital.

In addition, the family would like to recognize everyone who helped us through Amber’s battle. We are Amber’s Army. We laugh, we cry, and we know God is with us.
