Alyssa Marie Magro, a beacon of light and love, passed away on July 27, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know her. Born on March 24, 1993, in Olean, New York, Alyssa's life was a beautiful tapestry of compassion, dedication, and unwavering positivity.
In her journey through life, Alyssa achieved an associate’s degree and excelled in creating meaningful connections with all those around her. Her warm personality radiated kindness and joy. Alyssa was a devoted daughter to Chris and Anne Magro, a loving sibling to her sister Jordan Magro and brother Chaz Magro, and a loyal friend to her canine companions Bane and Lucy. Alyssa is survived by her loving family, devoted father and mother, Chris and Anne, her beautiful “Cyster”-sister Jordan, her “bad ass” loving brother Chaz, her maternal great-gramma Marge, Grama Amy, Papa Buzzy, paternal Nana and Popop, as well as so many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins and fellow transplant and Cystic Fibrosis warriors still fighting their battle, that she would encourage to “never give up”. She found immense joy in spending time with her family and treasured the memories created with her late Aunt Amy and Grandpop Conway along with her beautiful CF/transplant warriors that had gone before her. Last, but not least, the tens of thousands of lives she touched every day.
Alyssa's passion for off-roading with her Jeep “Itty Bitty” led her to establish "Wheelin with CF," where she inspired others in the Jeep community to embrace life fully and raise awareness for CF, the disease she fiercely battled every day. While she had CF, CF did not have her and her proudest accomplishments included challenging people to "Live your best life," embodying the spirit of perseverance and positivity. This Jeep community became a second family to Alyssa.
Apart from her remarkable career achievements, Alyssa found solace in simple joys like being a huge Cincinnati Bengals fan, “Who Dey”, alongside her Dad.
Indulging in Line Dancing and Country and West Coast Swing brought her immense joy and was an integral part of her life. This dancing community filled her with a tremendous sense of belonging. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, that could brighten even the darkest days and spreading happiness wherever she went.
The services to honor Alyssa's life will include a public Visitation on Friday, August 9th, 2024, at Raymer - Kepner in Huntersville from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10th at Holy Spirit Catholic Church (inside the Parish Activity Center) in Denver, NC at 11:00 AM. A private reception for family and invited guests will follow the service.
Alyssa Marie Magro may have departed this world, but her spirit of selflessness and unwavering optimism will continue to inspire all who knew her. She leaves behind a void that can never be filled but also a legacy that will endure for generations to come. May she rest in eternal peace.
