Alice Rosas, 80, passed away peacefully on November 27, 2022 in Huntersville, North Carolina, after a long battle with Parkinson's disease.
Alice was born on April 3, 1942 to Ramon and Asunción Urrutia in Manhattan, New York. She grew up in Tampa, Florida surrounded by her loving family of eight other siblings.
She was very proud of her Cuban heritage, and when she started her own family, she passed down many Spanish traditions, recipes, her spirituality and faith in God to her five children.
Alice had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed many fun hobbies, including fishing, card games, bowling, dancing and last but not least, yelling "BINGO!".
She wore her heart on her sleeve and lived life to the fullest. Even after she could no longer speak, her spunk and strong will would not let the disease define her, she always greeted you with a smile and a thumb's up, until the end.
Alice will be missed by many, but especially by her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters, Anita Hoyt (Andy), Ingrid Hoyt (Phil), Gina Cable (Jarrid) and sons Mario Alfonso and Joe Becknell (Michelle), along with nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, three sisters and two brothers.
