Alexander Logan Thomas

Alexander Logan Thomas, 29, of Newton, NC passed away on August 29^th, 2023.

Alexander was born in Asheville, NC on October 16^th, 1993 to Misty Loraine Thomas and the late Reginald Alexander Johnson.

Alexander showed love and compassion to anyone who was in his presence. He loved reading, playing his guitar, writing poetry and songs, sharing music with his brother, and playing with his son.  He was a favored athlete and excelled in baseball, football, and karate.  He was a carpenter, a painter, a cook, a debater, a moon gazer, a humanitarian, a musician, a lover and a fighter, a comedian and a mentor.  He was a best friend, a brother, a son, and a father.  He was our Light.

Along with his father, Alexander is preceded in death by his paternal Grandparents, James Johnson & Brenda Johnson.

He is survived by his mother, Misty Loraine Thomas, his brother, Jordan Isaiah Rose, and his son, Zayden Alexander Thomas. 

Alexander is also survived by his maternal Grandparents Benny & Charlene Thomas.  His Aunt & Uncle Summer & Chris Dighton and their daughter, McKenzie Dighton.  His Uncle & Aunt Joshua & Kayla Thomas and their children, Alydia & Luke Thomas.  As well as his Great-Grandfather, Pastor Jesse Durant Hamlett “Billy”.

His paternal Aunt & Uncle Katrina & Calvin Lowrance and their son, Joshua Lineburg and his 3 children. Their daughter, Jessica Lineburg and her child. Uncle James Johnson and his children, Eathan Johnson & Ella Johnson. James’ other son, DaQuaci Johnson and his 3 children. Aunt Janine Johnson and her son, Jo’Nathan Johnson and his 2 children.

His Stepfather, Charles LeGrand Rose.  His Grandfather Albert Rose & Grandmother Carrie Beckett.  His Aunt Michele Rose and her son & wife, Michael & Heather Rose and their children Kyrie Rose & Akira Rose.  And Michele’s daughters, Katelyn Montanez, Autumn Griffith & Tallyah Martin.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm on Wednesday, September 6^th, 2023 at Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home in Huntersville, NC.  The family will receive friends beginning at 5:00pm until the start of the service.
