Alan Wiley Poindexter

Alan Wiley Poindexter, 47, of Charlotte, NC died Tuesday July 9, 2013 at Carolinas Medical Center. Born August 23, 1965 in Charlotte he was the son of Clarence Poindexter and Marilyn Robbins. Alan was a graduate of East Gaston High School in Mt. Holly, NC and UNC Charlotte. He was an actor and former Artistic Director of the Children's Theater of Charlotte. A celebration of Alan's life will be conducted 3:00 p.m. Sunday July 14, 2013 in the Chapel of Raymer-Kepner Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Also a celebration of Alan's life will be conducted August 22, 2013 at Spirit Square, McGlohon Theater in Charlotte from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. He leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Marilyn Robbins and husband Jack of Sherrills Ford, NC; father, Clarence Poindexter of Iron Station, NC; sister, Sharon Page and husband Richard of Denver, NC; nephews, Ryan, Aaron and Sean Page; aunt, Marion Hunt; uncle, W. Terrell Poindexter and wife Mary and several cousins, step sisters and brothers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Arts Organization of the Donor's Choice or the Animal Charity of the Donor's Choice.
