Born into poverty, she made possible the American Dream for her children through her hard work, including outside the home when necessary. She had a strong sense of doing the right thing and was a strict disciplinarian. She sewed her children's clothes and used her crocheting and embroidery talents to decorate her home. Her jeweled Christmas ornaments are treasured by her friends, children and grandchildren. In 2002, she visited Lithuania and met some of the grateful recipients of scholarships she and her husband provided. This trip to her parents' beautiful homeland was one of the highlights of her life. Her family wishes to thank Catawba Valley Hospice for their care and support during the last six months of her life. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church in October.
