Abner Monroe Howard, 90, of Denver N.C., died April 16, 2011, at home. He was born on Dec 1-1920 in Denver N.C., son of the late Seab Dewey and Georgiana Barker Howard.
He was a loom fixer for the former Cascade at Burlington Industries, Mooresville N.C., and a member of the Fairfield United Methodist Church, in Denver N.C.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Wilhelm Howard in 2008, and 10 siblings.
Surviving are 2 sons, Edwin Monroe Howard of Ft. Worth Texas, and Ronald Lee Howard of Denver N.C., 1 brother, Billy Hugh Howard of Lowesville, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday, April 18, 2011, at the Fairfield United Methodist Church, 7860 Fairfield Forest Road, Denver, N.C., from 1pm until time of service at 2 pm, with Rev. Tony Matthews Officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairfield United Methodist Church Cemetery.
